Spiced Hot Chocolate

If you love hot cocoa but want to spice it up a bit, then this spiced hot chocolate is what you’re looking for. 40% more cocoa of Del Monte Chocolate Syrup blended with cayenne pepper and cinnamon makes it wonderfully rich and thick.

Ingredients

3/4 cup Del Monte Chocolate Syrup
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1.5 cups Milk
1 tbsp Cornstarch dissolved in two tbsp water
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract For The Filling
- Top with whipped cream

Method


  1. In a large saucepan, on low flame, heat milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon stick until it begins to simmer, about 4 minutes.
  2. Add in the Del Monte Chocolate Syrup and cayenne pepper and keep stirring until all combined, for another minute.
  3. Add the cornstarch dissolved in water to this mixture and cook another minute or two until the hot chocolate begins to thicken. You can skip this step if you like your hot chocolate to be of a thin consistency.
  4. Top with whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
